Raisa Wickramasinghe

I am the Immigration Lawyer here at MRCLAW my practice primarily focuses on migration law matters including skilled migration, student visa applications, family and partner migration, business migration, protection visas, visitor visas and Australian permanent residency and citizenship.

Originally from the tropical island Sri Lanka, Raisa moved to Australia 7 years ago and earned a Master  of International Relations from La Trobe University in 2016. In addition, Raisa obtained a Juris Doctor from RMIT University, successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Leo Cussen Legal Centre for Law and admitted to practice in Victoria in 2020.

Raisa graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Qualifying Law Degree in 2012 and was admitted to practice in Sri Lanka in 2015.

Prior to joining MRC Law, Raisa worked as a Para Legal with an Immigration Law Department in Melbourne. Her role was to provide substantial legal advice and casework service for asylum seekers, refugees and disadvantaged migrants in the community and in immigration detention in Victoria and across Australia. Additionally, she was a Law Clerk at Attorney General’s Department of Sri Lanka: for the Criminal Division.

Raisa is a qualified lawyer in both Australia and Sri Lanka specialising in Immigration Law. She is fluent in Sinhala.
